How to set and customize the site identity in WordPress?

Open the admin panel of your site and hover on the Appearance menu on the left side. A small sub-menu popup will be shown aside from it and click on the Customize option. After clicking on the Customize option, the page will reload and customize.php will open.

On the left side menu, the Site Identity option is visible. Click on it and see the options for setting.

  1. Logo
  2. Site Title
  3. Tagline
  4. Site Icon

1- Logo

Click on the select logo text which has a dotted border under the logo option. After clicking on it, the media library will open where we can select an image(logo) from WordPress media or computer. Here we can select Upload Files which is used to upload files (logos) from the computer.

Click on the button and select the image(logo) from the computer. Today we will use a WordPress log for this and will see the site.

2- Site Title

Under the logo option, we can see the site title option which has the name of the site. Here we use a local server and the site’s name is wpprogramming_test. You can see the site name in the above images. Now we have been changing the name of the site from wpprogramming_test to wpprogramming_live.

Now we can see the name of the site which has changed from wpprogramming_test to wpprogramming_live.

3- Tagline

The tagline is a short description and impressive or memorable phrase used in advertising that is used to define the entire site.

Now we can add a tagline in WordPress and publish the site to view the tagline in the site.

Under the input field of a tagline, we can see an additional option related to the tagline. If this option is checked, we can the see title and tagline of the site otherwise we cannot see these values or text.

4- Site Icon

The site icon, also known as the favicon, is a small image that appears in the browser tab and bookmarked pages. It is different from the logo, which is displayed on the website along with the site name and tagline.

The default logo used in WordPress is displayed above, as shown in the image. However, most business owners and developers use their own logos. Here we will not use the unique logo, we will use another logo of WordPress.
