Here, we will add chat widgets to the WordPress site with the help of the Chaty plugin. So we need to install and activate the plugin. You can follow this blog to understand how to download, install, and activate plugins.

After successfully installing the plugin, navigate to the Dashboard and locate the “chaty” option in the left sidebar menu. Click on it to access the plugin’s settings and features, where you can customize your chat widget. First, click on the “Create Widget” button, and go to the further options for creating widgets.

1. Choose your channels

You can now choose which social media chat icons will appear on the screen as a widget. After selecting social media chat icons, you will need to configure the settings for each icon. Here, we can add two chat icons that will be displayed on the screen. The first one is WhatsApp and the second one is Facebook Messenger.

1. WhatsApp
Click on the WhatsApp icon, and it will be added to the end of the list of icons. Select your country’s code and enter your WhatsApp number.
i- You can also enable a popup on the load page and display a default message on the widget screen.
ii- You can choose to hide or show the chat icon on both desktop and mobile devices.
iii- You can change the color of the icon that will be displayed on the screen.
iv- You can customize the text that appears when hovering over the icon.

2. Messenger
Click on the Messenger icon, and it will be added to the end of the list of icons. Enter your Messenger Link (https://m.me/{username}). Here, you can get your username for Messenger.
i- You can choose to hide or show the chat icon on both desktop and mobile devices.
ii- You can change the color of the icon that will be displayed on the screen.
iii- You can customize the text that appears when hovering over the icon

2. Customize your widget

After adding your social widgets, click the ‘Next’ button in the top right corner. This will take you to the customization section, where you can personalize the appearance and functionality of your widgets. Here you can customize these options.

    iv- Widget icon color
    v- Widget icon size
    vi- Text align with widget icon (default = Call to action)
    vii- Call to action behavior
    viii- Call to action text color
    ix- Call to action background

    iii- Custom position of widget icon

3. Triggers and Targeting

After that, click the Next button and go to the Trigger Settings option. Then you can activate or deactivate the widget directly. Under the Trigger section, you can manage the widget’s display settings.

  1. Display the widget after a specific time
  2. Display when the visitor is about to leave the page
  3. Display the widget after a specific scroll depth on the page

This section includes additional features such as displaying options, scheduling, and custom CSS, which are available in the paid version.

4. Add live chat

You can add live chat support to your site for a good experience for the website’s visitors. This plugin supports the Chatway plugin which is available on wordpress.org. You need to click the Add Live Chat button under the Add Live Chat section, click on the Install Now button then activate this plugin. After activation, you can set up it
